Where is Lunenburg?

The postcard-perfect town of Lunenburg is located on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, one of Canada’s four Maritime provinces. Settled in 1753, its colourful heritage harkens back to its days as a rum running and ship building town with its spicy mix of Caribbean, European and American influences. It’s now one of only two urban communities in North America to be named a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Gothic churches, brightly painted British Colonial architecture and horse-drawn carriages are just part of what makes Lunenburg an enchanting small town to visit. There are charming restaurants serving world-class seafood, distilleries, museums, shops, galleries and a scenic golf course too. And of course its picturesque a harbourfront, home to the famous Bluenose II, a replica of the original racing schooner (with parts made at the Lunenburg Foundry!)
